Orthopedic Bracing

An Orthopedic Brace or Orthosis is an orthopedic device used to control, guide, limit and/or immobilize an extremity, joint, or body segment for a given reason. It may also restrict or assist movement in a given direction and can reduce weight bearing forces for a particular mobility purpose. Orthopedic Bracing can also help with rehabilitation from fractures, or to correct the shape or function of a particular body part by providing easier movement capability or reducing pain. Individuals who benefit from an Orthosis may have sustained a physical impairment cause by illness, injury or a congenital abnormality.

Infrared Gait Scan

Many people have problems created by improper movement of their feet. Low Back pain, foot and ankle pain or knee and hip pain often come directly from improper foot movement.
At Integrative Regional Medical Center we specialize in Diagnosing foot movement patterns by using infrared technology as well as time lapse video of a person’s running and walking form.
Our trained doctors understand sports and movement and are well trained in the diagnosing and treatment of foot related sport issues. We do not simply insert a one size fits all drug store product in the hope it will work.

The Top Causes of Ankle & Foot Pain

In our clinic we treat foot and ankle issues on a daily basis for more than 16 years. The number one cause we see is poor movement of the foot as it relates to running.
Many people have very poor running form and it causes overuse injuries to the bottom of the foot the ankle and the lower leg. Eventually the pain reaches the knees and lumbar spine.
Proper foot movement needs to be reviewed by a knowledgeable professional with experience in not only proper running form but also with access to doctors with clinical experience in correcting the issue.
Flat feet, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, chronic ankle sprains and knocked knees and low back pain are all issues resulting from improper running form.
In our office we use a camera app to review running form and other technologies to measure movement of the spine to properly diagnose and treat foot and ankle pain. We also have the very best Sport Performance Coaches to aid in correcting any problem.

Medical Movement Analysis

The MMA is a 4 protocol system using infrared and Functional Movement technology to diagnose aberrant movement patterns which lead to injury.
For example, if a pitcher has a limitation in shoulder extension it won’t be long before multiple pitches lead to an injury. The MMA will diagnose the shoulder limitation prior to it becoming painful and restricting the pitcher from playing. MMA is a great way to prevent injury and loss of play time. If a person can’t squat properly it won’t be long before lower leg or low back injury occurs during movement. The MMA seeks to prevent, prediagose and prehab injuries before they stop a person from performing.

Injured At Work?

Chiropractic is an excellent means of dealing with work related injuries. If there is an injury on the job and you’ve gone down the traditional medical road to be treated, it may be time to turn to chiropractic care. Chiropractors are professionals at identifying underlying issues that potentially could be dismissed by others. Locating the source of your injury could be the difference between fixing an issue and living with something for a long period of time.
In addition to being professionals at uncovering underlying issues, Chiropractors handle the healing process without the need for addictive pain pills and potentially risky surgery. If you’ve been injured at work, make sure to go see a chiropractor for an initial consultation.

Chiropractic

Doctors of Chiropractic (D.C.) commonly perform a “chiropractic adjustment.” Slight misalignments of the vertebrae are known as subluxations. Chiropractic Doctors use manipulation techniques to remove subluxations as well as restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become hypomobile – or restricted in their movement – as a result of a tissue injury. Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event, such as improper lifting of a heavy object, or through repetitive stresses, such as sitting in an awkward position with poor spinal posture for an extended period of time. In either case, injured tissues undergo physical and chemical changes that can cause inflammation, pain, and diminished function for the sufferer. Manipulation, or adjustment of the affected joint and tissues, restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal.
